I'm a Singaporean economist who became an opposition activist. I blog to provide an alternative to the porkies that the Pinkies tell. It just so happens that my alternative is the truth. That's why I've never been sued in any civil or criminal court no matter how hard hitting my criticism.
I'm quoted and interviewed and asked to speak across the world but largely censored in Singapore in an effort to silence my political opinions.
The left hate me because they think I split their vote and because I eschew their outmoded economic models. Models that don't work.
The Right and the Conservatives hate me because I'm a liberal.
I'm not sure what the middle think of me. I don't think there are more than a handful of people in the middle, here in Singapore.
I'm a Singaporean born and bred, dual heritage, my parents Singaporean established here before the State of Singapore was created. I'm not Eurasian.
I read economics at Cambridge and could be broadly described as from the Keynesian school but I believe in interventions. I was formerly a successful hedge fund manager. After economics and politics my greatest interests are history, film and Makan. I run but I run so I can eat like a Singaporean.

Leong Mun Wai Famously Described PSP to Me as PAP. Now It Seems He’s Shamelessly Turning It into Reform Party

Back in 2020 I held a Zoom meeting with Dr Tan Cheng Bock (TCB) from PSP. Also on the call was Leong Mun Wai (LMW). Together with me representing Reform […]

Why Mention of Ong Beng Seng Always Takes Me Back to the HPL, Nassim Jade Scandal.

Media both foreign and local – but always state – has been drip-feeding us information on the CPIB probe and Iswaran’s appearance in court last Thursday, where he faced 27 […]

Is a Realistic Measure of the Size of Singapore’s Economy Only About Half What the PAP Government Says It Is?

I remember discussing Singapore’s development strategy with my Economics Director of Studies at Cambridge University, Professor Ajit Singh, in 1983. He said Singapore had pursued a similar strategy to Ireland, […]

Dear Lawrence Wong, Why Are You Now Telling Singaporeans That They Should Exchange Material Success for Spiritual Goals? Is That Because the PAP Have Failed Miserably or Are You Really so Out of Touch That You Think We’re as Rich as You and Your Colleagues?

Dear Lawrence Wong, thank you for giving Singaporeans the benefits of your accumulated life wisdom at the Forward Singapore event. No doubt if things don’t work out with your boss […]

Shame On You, Shan and Bala! You Are Supposed to be Stewards of Our Nation’s Reserves Not Looking to Exploit Incompetent Management by a State Agency One of You Heads

Recently I read in Business Times that a Good Class Bungalow (GCB), which Su Baolin, one of the alleged money launderers, had been put back on the market at $120,000 […]

Dear Lawrence Wong, Please Explain Why MOH’s Budget in 2021 Was $18.4 Billion Yet I Can Only Find $7 Billion in Subsidies Going to Our Public Healthcare System

Dear Lawrence Wong, I have asked you and the Minister for Health repeated questions on many occasions about MOH’s Budget (see here and here for just two articles of many). […]

Why the Elected Presidency is an Exercise in Gaslighting

Singaporeans’ excitement over the Presidential election is more a reflection of their frustration with the PAP’s carefully gerrymandered Parliamentary elections which disenfranchise 40% of Singaporeans who vote for the Opposition […]
